Writing Prompt #1 You Grow Girl

My very first plant - My first memories of planting and gardening are with my dad.  We had a common area out back of our house, and we decided to start a garden.  We picked out plants from things that we liked.  The first was asparagus which we didn't know then took 3 years to grow.  We also added strawberries which the birds loved!  I know we added broccoli because I remember my mom serving it to my grandparents and there worms or caterpillars of the same color on it.  It was quickly whisked out to the room before our guests could see it - eww!  I think the best thing we ever grew in that garden was a bunch of rocks. We also knew little about making the soil better so our garden never really took off, but i have great memories of trying!
